General: How do I reset the administrator password of my NAS?

Use a sharp object such as paperclip or pin and insert it into the hole under the "Reset" sign on the back of your unit. Press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds to reset the administrator password to the default password. You can feel a tiny click when the button is pressed.

After holding the reset button for 3 seconds, you will hear a beep to let you know the reset has been completed.

Your data will not be deleted, but the following settings will be reset:
  • Password for the admin account will be changed to the default password
    QTS 4.4.2 and later versions.

    The default password of admin is changed to the first MAC address of NAS in uppercase letters and without special characters.
    QTS 4.4.1 and older versions

    The default password of admin is admin, You can login the NAS via admin/admin after resetting the NAS.
  • TCP/IP configuration:
    • IP address settings are automatically obtained via DHCP.
    • Jumbo frames are disabled.
  • System port: 8080 (system service port)
  • Security level: Low (allow all connections)
  • LCD panel password: (no password)
  • VLAN: Disabled
  • Service binding: All NAS services can run on all available network interfaces.
