General: What can I do if the STATUS LED keeps flashing in orange?

The possible reasons that cause the STATUS LED to flash in orange are:
1. No hard drives are installed (STATUS LED will flash in orange/green).
2. DSM has not been installed.
3. No volumes are created.
4. The volume is in degraded mode.
5. The volume has crashed.
Please follow the steps below to fix this issue:

1. If no hard drives are installed:
- Solution: Refer to the Quick Installation Guide and install the hard drives.
- Solution: Install DSM using Synology Assistant. Double-click on your Synology product and follow the wizard to complete the setup.
- Solution: To create a volume, log into DSM (http://serverIP:5000). Go to Storage Manager > Volume to create a volume.
- Solution: To repair the degraded volume, log into DSM (http://serverIP:5000). For a RAID 1 or RAID 5 volume, find out which drive has been degraded (at Storage Manager > HDD/SSD), and replace it with a new one. After the new hard drive has been inserted, repair the degraded volume by clicking the Manage button > Repair on the Volume page.
- Do NOT touch or change anything in DSM and please submit a Support Form.
