Overview

This article will guide you on how to embed your Photo Station to most popular content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal) and any other websites. Synology has provided some plug-in tools for WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal, as well as HTML scripts for other websites. We assume that you have already got basic knowledge on HTML.

1. Before you start

Before you start embedding Photo Station to a content management system or any other websites, make sure you have completed the following tasks:
  • Set up your Synology NAS
  • Installed and set up the latest version of DiskStation Manager (DSM) as well as the Photo Station package
  • Installed and set up the content management system in which you wish to embed your Photo Station

2. Embed Photo Station in WordPress

2.1. Embed Photo Station in your post
  1. Go to Plugins, and enable Photo Station Tinymce plugin
  2. Go to Posts > Add New, and click Insert images from Photo Station. If you use this feature for the first time, you will need to enter the IP address of your Synology NAS, and specify the protocol for the connection
  3. Choose an album or a photo to embed in your post
  4. You can easily edit your post with the embed photos or albums
2.2. Embed Photo Station in the layout of your WordPress blog
  1. Go to Plugins, and enable Photo Station WordPress Plugin
  2. Go to Appearance > Widgets, and click Photo Station. Add widgets to the layout of your WordPress blog. You can then configure the layout to the right for the corresponding column
  3. You can now view the embedded Photo Station on your WordPress blog according to your configuration

3. Embed Photo Station in Joomla

  1. Go to Extensions > Modules, and click New
  2. Click Photo Station, and configure the related settings, such as the IP address of your Synology NAS, connection protocol, and the position to which to embed your Photo StationĀ 
  3. You can now view the Photo Station embedded to the specified position. If you wish to embed another album, click Photo Station Selector to select another album to embed

4. Embed Photo Station in Drupal

  1. Go to Modules to enable the Photo Station plugin, and click Save configuration
  2. Click Configure to the right, and specify the IP address of your Synology NAS and the protocol for connection

  3. Go to Structure > Block to specify the region to which to embed your Photo Station, and click Save blocksimage
  4. You can now view the embedded Photo Station on the specified region according to your configuration image

5. Embed Photo Station with HTML scripts in a website

  1. In Photo Station, select a public album, and click More > Embed album
  2. Customize your preference for embedding the album, and copy the generated HTML code. If you tick the Click to enter lightbox mode checkbox, you will also get the JavaScript source code
  3. Paste these codes to the HTML source of your website. In the screenshot below, we take WordPress for example. You can then view the embedded Photo Station on your website according to your specified position in the HTML source.
