My Foscam camera shows the wrong time and recordings are hard to find. What should I check?

Applies to: Foscam app and supported cameras; the Sync Time path below is documented for B4. Other models and NVRs have separate time controls.

Work through these checks

1. Preserve required recordings and record the visible time difference. Compare the live-image timestamp, playback timeline and phone time; these may be produced by different devices. Do not format a card to fix a clock error.
2. Confirm the phone uses correct automatic date/time and its intended time zone. For B4, open Live > Camera Settings > Advanced Settings > Sync Time. On other models, use the documented device time control instead of assuming the same menu.
3. Check time zone and daylight-saving options where provided. Singapore uses UTC+08:00 without daylight saving. For an NVR or NAS recording the camera, review its own clock and time source separately; syncing the phone does not automatically correct the recorder.
4. Create one harmless test event and compare the new recording with a known clock. Search the earlier offset time range for existing footage. A clock correction does not necessarily relabel previous recordings or guarantee a missing event was recorded.

Confirm the result

A newly recorded event appears at the expected local time and can be played back. Note the old offset when locating recordings created before the correction.
