ESET LiveGrid is not accessible or Limited Direct Cloud connectivity appears. What should I check?

QUICK ANSWER

The warning concerns access to ESET’s cloud services. It can result from an outage, DNS, a proxy or outbound filtering. Check the exact warning before changing subscriptions or reinstalling the product.

Applies to: ESET products using LiveGrid and related direct cloud connectivity.

Work through these checks

  1. Record when the warning began and whether one computer or the whole site is affected. Confirm normal internet access and ask the administrator to check current ESET service availability.
  2. Compare the approved network path, DNS and proxy configuration with a working device. A successful ping or ordinary web page does not establish that the required ESET service traffic is allowed.
  3. For Limited Direct Cloud connectivity, ESET specifies TCP and UDP 53535 to its required service endpoints. Ask the administrator to compare outbound rules with the current ESET endpoint list for the installed product.
  4. Retest after the identified network or provider issue is corrected. Keep ESET protection and its intended cloud features enabled; review logs if the same warning persists on an otherwise working network.

Confirm the result

The warning clears and the affected ESET cloud feature reports normal connectivity. Check more than one endpoint if the problem affected the whole site.

Before going further: This is not a request to forward inbound port 53535 from the internet, disable the firewall or replace company DNS without review.
