How to Whitelist a Trusted Website in ESET Windows Home Products (Versions 15.x–16.x)
Last Updated 7 months ago

Problem You Might Face

  • ESET's Web Access Protection is blocking a site that you consider secure.

Important Notes Before Proceeding

Whitelisting a website has its security concerns. Proceed with caution, ideally under the guidance of ESET Technical Support or a knowledgeable system administrator.

Recommended Precautions:

  • Temporarily whitelist websites.
  • Avoid whitelisting sites where you input sensitive data, such as banking platforms.
  • Don't disable real-time file system protection when interacting with whitelisted sites.
  • Report misclassifications to ESET if you think a particular website shouldn't be blocked.

For Various User Types:

  • Endpoint Users: Learn how to whitelist sites on individual workstations with ESET endpoint products.
  • ESET PROTECT Users: Learn to unblock sites on endpoints via ESET PROTECT (Versions 8.x–10.x) or ESET PROTECT Cloud.
  • Mac Users: Consult guidelines for ESET Cyber Security products.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

  1. Open your ESET Windows product's main interface.
  2. Hit the F5 key to access the Advanced setup.

Using Wildcards in Web Addresses
