Deploy or Upgrade ESET Endpoint Products with ESET PROTECT or ESET PROTECT Cloud

Issue
This guide is for users with the necessary permissions to execute the outlined tasks. If you encounter issues, make sure you have administrative access, or create a second administrator user.
- ESET PROTECT: Create a second administrator user
- ESET PROTECT Cloud: Create a second administrator user
- ESET Security Management Center: Create a second administrator user
You can perform two main tasks with this guide:
- Upgrade ESET Endpoint Security, ESET Endpoint Antivirus, or ESET Server/Mail Security.
- Deploy ESET endpoint solutions remotely.

Getting Started

Instructions
- Open ESET PROTECT Web Console and log in.
- Navigate to
Tasks → Operating System → Software Install → New → Client Task.
Basic Settings
- Fill in the
Namefield. - The
Descriptionfield is optional. Taskwill auto-set to Software Install.- Click
Continue.
Linux Installations
Add --skip-license to Installation parameters if you wish to skip the EULA display.
Settings
- Under
Package to Install, choose either to install from the repository or by a direct package URL.- From Repository:
- Select
Operating System. - Click
Choose Package from Repository. - Customize settings if needed.
- Accept the EULA and Privacy Policy.
- Click
OK.
- Select
- By Direct URL:
- Paste the package URL.
- Accept the EULA.
- Optional: Choose the license for new installations or upgrades.
- From Repository:
- Click
Summary → Finish. - Click
Create Triggerwhen prompted. - Fill in the
Trigger Description. - Add computers or groups as
Targets. - Select the
Trigger Typeand clickFinish. - Send an activation task for regular updates.
Note: After the upgrade, a system restart is required.
