Frequently Asked Question
Why is the invisible selfie stick still visible in my Insta360 X5 footage?
QUICK ANSWER
Keep the camera and compatible stick aligned on the same axis and use the appropriate 360 capture mode. A bent mount or accessory extending beyond the stitching area can remain visible.
Applies to: Insta360 X5 and other supported X-series 360 cameras with a compatible Invisible Selfie Stick.
Work through these checks
- Check that the footage was captured in a supported 360 mode. The same invisibility result is not guaranteed in Single-Lens mode.
- Mount the camera straight above the stick. Remove an angled adapter or offset mount for a simple test; check that the stick is fully secured without forcing the thread.
- Keep straps, clamps, cables and fingers away from the camera's stitching area. A wide accessory near the lenses may be visible even when the narrow stick is hidden.
- Import the original footage into the supported Insta360 app or Studio and use the correct camera/accessory settings. Compare a short stationary test before recording an important activity.
Confirm the result
Inspect the area directly below the camera in the exported 360 view. Test both a still scene and gentle movement; stitching can change when the stick flexes.
