Frequently Asked Question
Jabra Link 380 Will Not Pair with the Headset
ACE KNOWLEDGE BASE · JABRA
Check the adapter and use its Jabra Direct pairing workflow before resetting existing connections.
A headset can be paired with a phone while its computer adapter remains unpaired. For a compatible Jabra headset using a Link 380 adapter, check the adapter connection in Jabra Direct before changing the computer's built-in Bluetooth settings.
1. Identify the Adapter You Are Using
Read the adapter model and the headset model. The Evolve2 65 and its supplied Link 380 are normally paired together out of the box; a replacement adapter or a changed pairing needs a separate check. Do not assume every Jabra headset supports every Link model.
2. Use the Correct Pairing Workflow
- Connect the Link 380 to a working USB port on the computer. Use the current official Jabra Direct version permitted by your organisation.
- Switch on the headset, keep it close and put it into its model-specific Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Open the adapter's pairing controls in Jabra Direct. The manufacturer's FAQ describes Pairing → Search, followed by selecting the intended device and Connect. Labels can differ with the Direct version.
- Confirm that the correct headset is associated with the adapter. Then select the Link adapter for the computer's audio output and microphone input.
3. Separate Pairing from Call Control
Try a short audio playback and microphone test, followed by a meeting-app test. Successful pairing does not prove that the application selected the intended audio device or that every answer/end-call control is supported.
If pairing fails, record whether Jabra Direct detects the adapter, whether it finds the headset and the exact message at the failing stage. Keep existing pairings until you understand the effect of a reset. A reset should follow the exact model's instructions.
Submit the headset/adapter models, Jabra Direct version, operating system and redacted error screenshot to our Support Specialist. Use the Jabra product range to help identify the equipment; do not send passwords or licence information.
