Frequently Asked Question
Why can I not reach my Ablerex CY504B SNMP card on the network?
QUICK ANSWER
Check the exact management-card model, Ethernet connection and assigned IP network. A UPS network card is separate from USB monitoring and does not automatically become reachable from every VLAN.
Applies to: Ablerex-supported CY504B/NetAgent-family management cards. Confirm the actual card and UPS compatibility before using its utilities.
Work through these checks
- Read the card label and record its model and MAC address. Do not use a default address, password, firmware or discovery utility from a different Ablerex/Generex card family.
- Check the Ethernet cable, switch-port link and intended management VLAN. Ask the administrator whether the card should use DHCP or a documented static address; check the matching DHCP lease or asset record.
- Use the card's supported discovery/configuration utility from an appropriate local network where permitted. Discovery broadcasts may not cross a routed VLAN, so an empty search does not establish card failure.
- If its web interface opens locally but monitoring does not, check the configured SNMP version, credentials, access restrictions and management-station path. Keep the card on a controlled management network and change default credentials through the supported process.

Confirm the result
Confirm the intended management host can read the correct UPS identity/status. Test approved alert and shutdown integration separately; opening a login page does not prove those functions work.
Before going further: Do not expose the card directly to the internet, reset it without a settings record or remove/install it in a powered UPS unless that exact procedure permits it.
If you need help
Include these details in your ticket: UPS/card model, firmware, redacted IP/subnet/VLAN, link status, discovery result and whether local web access differs from remote monitoring.
