Frequently Asked Question
Shokz OpenRun Is Connected but Has No Sound or Audio on One Side
ACE KNOWLEDGE BASE · SHOKZ
Check the output route, application volume, balance and active multipoint source.
Check the selected output and both volume controls before resetting OpenRun. A Bluetooth connection message does not prove that the phone or computer is sending its current audio to the headphones. This guide covers OpenRun and OpenRun Mini.
1. Check the Audio Route
Pause any other active call or audio session. On the source device, choose OpenRun as the intended audio output and check that the application is not muted. Play a familiar local audio sample, then adjust the source volume and the headphone volume gradually to a comfortable level.
2. Separate One Application from Every Application
Record whether music, a normal phone call and the affected app each work. On a Windows computer, check Settings → System → Sound for the intended output. If system sounds work but one application is silent, check that application's audio-device and volume settings.
If OpenRun has multipoint connections, confirm which phone or computer is supplying the audio. Two connected devices do not mean two audio streams play together. Test a single source connection to make the result clearer.
3. If Only One Side Is Heard
Review the source device's accessibility/audio balance setting. Compare another suitable source or audio sample before deciding that a headphone component has failed. Note whether the same side remains affected and whether the symptom changes between applications.
4. Preserve the Useful Evidence
If these checks do not resolve the issue, record the product model, source/OS version, connection method, audio route and tests completed. A reset is a later model-specific step that clears pairing information; it is not a substitute for checking the selected output.
Submit that information with redacted screenshots. For physical damage, liquid exposure or abnormal heating, stop using or charging the equipment and request assessment. Do not open the housing. The Shokz product range can help identify the exact family.
